Week 20 (Binalbagan)

Maayong aga sa tanan!

THIS WEEK WAS SA KALAYO (ON FIRE)! Sister Ronquillo is super fun and organized and I know I can learn a lot from her! I'm proud to say we did not get lost and our investigators and recent converts asked me not to leave Binalbagan area. It was super sweet and I wouldn't mind staying here for my whole mission. It's so beautiful and the people are so awesome and our area is so big that there are always new friends to make.

Saturday we spent some time lagaw-lagaw (like wandering) meeting new people and inviting them to hear our message about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. One recent convert asked us where we were going next, Sister Ronquillo said "we're going to find new......" and then she paused and I excitedly exclaimed "FRIENDS" So our recent convert, Judy Ann (11 years old) led us around to people who hadn't met us yet, including her aunt, uncle, and cousins who we (Sister Soriano and I) had passed by many times but never got a chance to talk to them.

Apparently there was a partial lunar eclipse Wed, Jan 31? We were eating dinner at a member's house and then there was a rush to go outside and watch the moon become dark. I took some pictures, they turned out okay. It was pretty cool :)

For pday this week our plans are to go to the beach and make smores THE FILIPINOS DON'T KNOW WHAT SMORES ARE! HOW CRAZY IS THAT?

We also had a small miracle yesterday at church. We rode a tricycle to Punaw to ride with the Pelarin family (recent converts) and a few others to church. While we were passing an area called tap-ok, I heard someone call out "SISTER" so I turned around to see Brother Sherwin (I don't know if I mentioned him before but he was present when we were teaching a family and when we invited them to church he said yes and came that following Sunday to church) on a tricycle with his nephews and some of their friends. Sister Ronquillo turned to me and asked if they were going to church, I answered that I wasn't really sure. When we arrived at the church, they immediately pulled in after us! We asked Brother Sherwin if they had gotten our text reminder about church and he said he hadn't! The last time he came to church was January 7th and we tried to visit him in the following weeks but he was always at work. It was such a miracle to me that they came to church after so long with no contact! We taught them later that day and invited them to be baptized when they know that our message is true. AND THEY ACCEPTED!

I wish I could explain to you all the happenings of the week. But there just isn't time. It sufficieth me to say that Sister Ronquillo and I are super excited for this transfer in Binalbagan area and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Padayon kamo!
