Maayong hapon!  So much happened this week! From the announcement about missionaries being allowed to call/text their parents to training in district council to exchanges and working with Elder and Sister Willis to Zone Conference (where we trained again) to a baptism and confirmation to extending a baptismal date for THIS Saturday?!?!! I love serving in Bacolod 2nd Ward and I love serving Heavenly Father and his children. I've never felt so happy or so fulfilled in my life. I'll attempt to explain in some detail what we did this week: We gave our first training of the transfer in district council. We trained about becoming a consecrated missionary (see talk by Tad R. Callister) or becoming the Fourth Missionary (see talk by Lawrence E. Corbridge). AWESOME talks to send if you have or know a missionary in the field. On Thursday, I went on exchanges to Sta. Fe with Sister Johnson and Sister Bise AND Elder and Sister Willis. What a wild day that was. My favorite appoint...

Week 74 (Bacolod)

Hello!!! I had a nice letter all typed up on Sister Schenk's keyboard but unfortunately it got deleted. So I will try to remember what I had written. And type it in the short time that we have. We had Stake Conference with Elder Teh who talked about the member's responsibility in missionary work. Here are some quotes I loved: "In an ideal situation, missionaries are full time teacher and members are full time finders" "Give me a ward that is missionary minded and loves the temple and I will give you a strong ward" (from Elder Holland) We work together to help bring the gospel to all of God's children. We had a very long lesson with Sister Gamay and Brother Danelo with Brother Javier (member) about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Brother Javier, of the same religious background as Gamay and Danelo, told his conversion story and it was amazing! It was so helpful to have him there and they are progressing towards baptism! They both had quite ...

Maayong aga!!! Today was transfer day. This marks the beginning of my last transfer in the Philippines Bacolod Mission. I can't believe that is even possible!?! I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY. So I try to not think about the end. I am so ready to keep giving my all, 100%, every day. To run THROUGH the line as our training said two transfers ago. I've been pondering a lot on the things I've learned and who I've become and how my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has become stronger and closer. There is nothing I can say or type or even write in my journal to explain the feelings of my heart and the thoughts of my mind to answer those questions. All I can say is summed up by the words I heard from one of my MTC teachers, Brother Mariano, "My mission is sacred to me." I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. The bad days and the good days. I look forward to the work God has for me in these last 6 weeks. We had MLC (Missionary Leadership ...

Maayong aga sa inyo tanan! Good morning to you all! This is the last week of this transfer and I can't believe how fast it's gone. P day Festivities: We went to the SM and got Krispy Kreme :D and then made grilled cheese out of them. DELICIOUS. 10/10 would recommend On Tuesday, we took a field trip to Talisay to train in Bata district. It also happened to be Sister Bise's birthday. We gave an awesome training and got to eat spaghetti, french bread with butter, green jello with whip cream, and cake! It was so crazy, felt like a step into America. On Wednesday, we had a mission wide cleaning day. Spent the whole day opening and cleaning out scary cabinets. No giant spiders so that's good. We ordered pizza for lunch :) We did exchanges with Talisay sisters so I worked with Sister Burkhardt in this Bacolod 2nd area. Fun to be with my batch! On Saturday, Andrea got baptized!!! She is 14 years old and we visited her mom a while ago before Christmas who was inactive...
