Week 71 (Bacolod)

Maayong aga sa inyo tanan! Time is short and everyone in our house keeps getting sick but here are some things we did this week: Exchanges - I worked with Sister Singleton this week! I love getting to work with lots of missionaries its so fun! But I think the best part is seeing them mature and change and grow and love missionary work. I am so grateful to have the assignment where I can help other missionaries to become better. I also LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY. I can't say that enough :D Farewell of Elder Beradas - We attended the farewell party of a missionary leaving from our ward. He will serve in Davao mission. It was super fun to see him starting his mission journey when I'm so close to the end of mine. I know how important and life changing a mission can be and hope he learns everything Heavenly Father needs him to learn. We also met two of his mom's friends who are interested in investigating the church! They are super nice and excited to learn! Zone Conference ...

Week 70 (Bacolod)

Maayong aga! Sister Schenk and I gave our first training together about upholding the Lord's vision for our mission. Titled His Vision, Our Mission. It was lots of fun and I hope it inspires the missionaries to remember that we must do His work in His way, not our own way. It's something we can all apply. God's plan for us is perfect for us. Because He knows us and loves us. If we learn to turn our will over to Him, we will be much happier and become much better people. Right after that, Sister Schenk went to Silay on exchanges and I got to work with Sister Martinez. The next day I went to Silay on exchanges with Sister Ferreria while Sister Schenk returned to our area w/ Sister Ferreria's companion. In Silay, I walked on a kinda sketch bridge (maybe you saw the pictures from when I went on in it in the day time last transfer), in the dark. But worth it for the family we taught on the other side. Grandma, uncles and aunts, and cousins. So cool to teach an extended f...

Maayong aga! Kamusta kamo (How are you?)?  Thank you to the emails you have sent me! I am sorry I'm not always able to reply, our time is limited but I really appreciate hearing from you!  This week was a good solid week. We are very tired but we don't let that hinder us. We had MLC on Wednesday and learned lots of great things from our mission leaders and I saw almost all my MTC batch! IT's fun to chat for a little bit especially since us sisters are nearing the end and the elders are the same +6 months. I'm so grateful for the friends I have made from the MTC til now and that have remained friends through the mission and I hope afterward too.  The star of this week is Sister Jonavie. She read in the Book of Mormon after we taught about the Restoration and she prayed about it. She told us she knows it and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. We assigned her to read 2 Nephi 31 and when we visited again and asked about her reading she...

Week 68 (Bacolod)

Maayong aga!! Happy first week of 2019!!! We worked hard this week to get organized and ready for the transfer. Sister Schenk is from Syracuse Utah and she's 9 months into her mission but 5 months only in the Philippines. She's really nice and hardworking and is already skilled at the language.  On Saturday we walked our whole area and were very exhausted but we visited lots of people to invite them to church! Normally Fast Sundays are very very difficult and not many people come to church. But yesterday 14 people being taught were at church!!! Sister Schenk and I were so so happy and so excited for these people we love so much! Best lesson we had this week was probably with Dan, Rose, Sister Amar, and Alvin (Inactive member). It was called CPR. We all know that CPR is what is used to bring our bodies to life so that they don't die. It's very important. And it's just as important for our spirits. Of course, we can't physically do CPR on our spirits but h...
