Week 60 (Bacolod)
Maayong udto!!!
Mosiah 18:9 Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God... that ye may have eternal life—
This week is basically defined by that scripture from the Book of Mormon.
One day we walked to a really far place but the person we were teaching was not there. Turning away, a little saddened by the effort leading up to nothing, we heard a young girl crying. We asked her what was wrong and she told us that her grandfather wasn't at her house. She looked as if she had just gotten home from school. We helped her find a neighbor who could watch her til her grandfather came home (apparently her mom was having a child so her grandfather took her to the hospital) she kept crying so we just sat and waited with her til her grandfather showed up. We found out why we went all the way out there.
Then on another day we walked into an area and saw the people we were hoping to teach walk out. We continued to walk in and found someone who we haven't taught much but always say hi to. We sat next to him only to learn that his nephew had died from a terrible motorcycle accident earlier that day. We listened to him talk about it and how he saw the pictures of his body. We sat with him for a while so he wasn't alone. Then we said a prayer for him and left. He thanked us. And I felt that we had done what we really needed in that area.
So overall, I saw firsthand how this week how God really knows each of His children and how we can be an instrument to help those in need of comfort or stand with those that mourn. And ALWAYS stand as a witness of God. I know that He knows you and loves you. He will never abandon you. Everything He does is for your good and for you to become better and become who He needs you to be.
I love you all very much! Search for what God needs you to do to help those around you! I promise there is something each and every day!
