Week 30 (Binalbagan)
Anyways, so things that happened this week:
Bishop and his wife came with us one night to a family that was baptized in December but stopped coming to church and a sister who will hopefully be married and baptized in May. It was really nice of them to come and help us, and treat us to dinner after :P I am seeing the importance of the ward and missionaries working TOGETHER. We're all on the same team, trying to help our brothers and sisters to come unto Christ and find true happiness.
IT IS SO BLAZING HOT. This week we had to take frequent breaks because it was just so hot and we were dying. People were asking us like why are you doing this? We told them because we love you people and we love Jesus.
Baptism ni Donato, nickname: Small. Cause when he was born he was super super tiny and still is. You'll see him in the pictures and be like are you sure he's old enough? Yes he is 10. He's super adorable and I wish I could adopt him as my little brother. He's very smart and shy but over time will become your best friend. Sister Soriano told me about him when I got here but said his mom wouldn't give permission because he's not old enough to understand. But when Sister Ronquillo and I visited them a while ago they were super welcoming and fun and talked about how they'd been visited by missionaries long ago. Donato's older sister was baptized two years ago and I think their mom was supposed to be baptized too but she has a smoking issue (we'll work on it :) ) Anyway, the day of his baptism we prayed so hard that his mom would come to the baptism and when we went to their house all 3 of them were ready to go! (Donato, his sister DonaMae, and their mother) His mom said that Donato had literally been waiting all day because he's so excited to be baptized.
I understand why Christ told us all to become like little children.
The baptism went well and the primary president was able to attend and bishop was able to shake their hands :D I know that Donato's baptism helped his mom come closer to the church and hopefully we can help her become ready for following our Savior Jesus Christ through baptism and confirmation.
Quote of the week: Tatay Domingo: "lain ang panit niya" (her skin is different, in reference to me) Sister Ronquillo: "Gani tay, kay cana 'mo" (yep tatay because she's an american you know)
