Week 55 (Bacolod)
MAAYONG HAPON!!!!
BREAKING NEWS!!!!
I have been transferred to Bacolod 2nd ward. I went from straight bukid (farms and mountains/very rural) to straight center of Bacolod City. It'll be a wild ride but I'm so excited for what God has in store for me and how I can help the people here to come closer to Christ. My companion is GUESS WHO?! Sister Clarke?!?! From my district in the MTC! When they announced the transfer we ran and hugged each other and are so excited to rock this transfer!!!!
I, of course, am sad to leave Cauayan because of all the people I loved and served there. There were and are a lot of people who I've seen change their lives because of the things we taught them and the things they learned at church about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's been so amazing and I'm glad Sister Campbell will take care of them with her new companion. I told her she has to send me pictures of when they get baptized :D I will miss them dearly but I am so grateful for the things I learned in Cauayan and for the opportunity I had to introduce children of God to the truth. I love the gospel. That was something Sister Campbell and I said so many times this week. I'd just turn to her during study and just say "Don't you just LOVE the gospel" and she would say "Yes Sister Bingham I love the gospel"
So not a lot of time but I gotta tell you guys about our combined zone meeting on Thursday even briefly. So we all went to Binalbagan chapel ( my first area !!!) and had AN AMAZING MEETING. It started at 10am and went til like 5pm with a lunch break but I just can't explain the Spirit that I felt in that meeting. We heard from all our senior missionaries and the APs who are going home. President quoted Elder Holland's talk called "Missionary work and the Atonement" I would definitely advise all of you to study more deeply about the Atonement, especially in the Book of Mormon. My favorite scriptures that I've been using to teach about the Atonement are in
Mosiah 3:7 "And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people." and then
2 Nephi 9:21,23 "And he cometh into the world that he may save all men if they will hearken unto his voice; for behold, he suffereth the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam. And he suffereth this that the resurrection might pass upon all men, that all might stand before him at the great and judgment day. And he commandeth all men that they must repent, and be baptized in his name, having perfect faith in the Holy One of Israel, or they cannot be saved in the kingdom of God."
It just shows me how Christ really suffered for everything we've felt, not just our sins. And all he asks us to do is have faith, repent, and be baptized in His name so we can return to live with him again. I've loved teaching about this this week. It's helped a lot of people with their individual struggles.
Anyway, love you all! I know the gospel of Christ changes lives!!!! You just have to let it!
