Week 57 (Bacolod)

Maayong aga!

This week Sister Clarke and I gave our first training! It was about handling stress and especially directed to the new missionaries who just got here because almost our whole zone is trainers&trainees. It went SO well and they loved the training! We even got to play Do you love your neighbor? Which is like my favorite game ever. We talked about how great our calling is as missionaries! And about how we can't avoid being stressed but we do have lots of resources to help us. I talked about how mastercraftsmen make plans, cut, shape, and polish a diamond so that it can be purer and reach a higher value. I compared that to how our Savior Jesus Christ as well as Heavenly Father are our Mastercraftsmen. They have a plan for each of us and they shape us to reach our full potential. That doesn't mean it's easy. We go through the refiner's fire, we have to face hard things, we have to face problems so that we can become that pure and clear and eventually perfect diamond. (Thank you Sister Jones for giving a YW in Excellence lesson that has never left me!). We then talked about how we can use the Atonement to help balance the hard things we face. We can have hope through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that our weaknesses can be made strong. We can have hope that through the Atonement we can be cleansed of our sins and be made better. We can have hope that if we press forward now we will be able to go back to our Father in Heaven. Everyone really felt helped by the training and it was what they needed. I'm so glad for the opportunity to better help other missionaries because of the assignment that I have as a Sister Training Leader.

I went on exchanges this week with Sister Saure in another ward. It was fun to go to a new area and to help Sister Saure with her questions about being a trainer, especially since I had just been a trainer I was happy to help.

We continued teaching and contacting the referrals given to us by members. It's awesome because they are already so prepared to hear the message of the restored gospel and super willing to learn and act on our invitations. We taught Brother Mel and did a practice interview with him and he is so ready! Smart man. Sister Clarke took a picture of him (he's in green) and he like wouldn't look at the camera haha. Then There's Brother Solis, who referred Brother Mel to us, who is sitting on an old computer.

Looking forward to giving our training again tomorrow in another district! I remember how hard it was for me a trainee, and I'm grateful that Sister Clarke and I can use our own experiences to help others get a better start than we did.
