Week 15 (Binalbagan) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Malipayon bag-o nga tuig!

I wish I had more time to explain all the cool stuff that happened these past two weeks! I didn't write last week because, syempre, I was skyping my family :D It was super awesome to see their goofy faces (Love you guys!) and hear them laughing!

We traveled to Bacolod on the 26th for our Christmas devotional on the 27th. What an experience! We played games outside (egg toss, sharks and minnows, relay version of tic tac toe). President Barredo's quote of the day: "I am on your team, if you win" We ate lots of food. We played some games in the church gym like musical chairs (I played Christmas hymns at the piano as the music) and then in our separate tables we sang Twelve Days of Christmas and each table made up an action for their day. They asked me to play the music for that on the spot! Grabbe na! We received training from our mission president's elder brother and nephew. President Barredo's brother has a really good mind for the scriptures and talked about how to help people build their testimony by teaching from the scriptures.

So on Dec 23rd, we had "White Christmas." A mother and two of her sons were baptized and they were so excited but really shy to give their testimonies afterwards. And a family from the ward had two kids (8yr old and 10yr old) baptized too. I played the piano and gave a talk. I was so afraid to speak because my Ilonggo is still slow but I prepared before hand and "if ye are prepared, ye shall not fear" di ba? I spoke about the importance of baptism and the importance of continuing to keep our baptismal covenants sa wala'y katapusan (forever). My trainer said I did well so I hope that I was able to bring the Spirit into the meeting. I'm so excited for the family and hope that they continue in the church so they may be sealed in the temple one day.

This past week, Eman, a friend of one of the boys baptized last week was baptized. He's always wandering in and out of our lessons and never really paid attention. But he attended the baptism last week and suddenly had a desire to be baptized too. We reviewed all the lessons with him and discovered that he already knew most everything! You never know who is paying attention I guess. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to make it to church the next day so he'll receive the Holy Ghost next week.

Thank you for all your prayers and support! I miss you guys and love you lots! I wish I could bring you to the Philippines so you could witness their great faith and kindness

(P.S. there are a lot of pictures from a Monday a while ago when we went to the beach as a district, super beautiful day and lots of fun! We all made food and took it to the beach and of course took lots of pictures, and pictures from the Ward Christmas party where the youth did 5 musical performances! All with costumes and in sync with each other and awesome skills, sagad-gid sila!)
