Week 50 (Cauayan)
MAAYONG AGA SA INYO TANAN! AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Yeah so here in the Philippines, we celebrate Christmas starting in September and all the way to December it's just a Christmas party so.
So this week was kinda crazy cause we were traveling all over the place to prepare our areas for our trainees and then actually meeting our trainees. Sister De Leon and I were temporary companions and we stayed in Bacolod for one night where I got to shower WITH A REAL SHOWERHEAD it was so weird (see pictures). Then we went to Sipalay and checked in on her baptismal candidate then the next day we worked in Cauayan to help prepare our baptismal candidate. It was lots of fun and everything worked out all right. Then the next day we got up early and went to Bacolod to meet our trainees! Our stomachs were full of butterflies and we were so nervous!!!! I remember being nervous as a trainee, I never thought the trainers might be nervous too.
My new companion is Sister Campbell from Pleasant Grove Utah and she is AWESOME! We get along great and she's super funny and nice. One bonding moment we had this week was I was telling a story about how one of my companions thought we always had people always wandering close to our house but it was really just a cat and while I was telling the story she bumped her foot against a box and it made this whole noise and it almost gave me a heart-attack and she laughed for like 10 minutes. :P
Gian was baptized on Saturday and he is just so great. When I was explaining to him about his promise/covenant to God he was just like "Don't worry Sister Bingham, I will endure to the end and go to church every Sunday" by the way Gian is 10 years old. When the Isioites showed up on Saturday I noticed their numbers were relatively smaller than usual, and they had a sad countenance. I found out that others wanted to come but they didn't have enough money. The branch president has a tricycle and he drove to Isio to get the other Isioites who wanted to come and he drove them all home after the baptism. I am so grateful for his willingness to help and include them even though they are just kids right now. I hope that as they grow up in the church they can become a big help to the branch. I love them so much and I know Christ does too and is so proud of them for following Him even when other people try to talk them out of it. They know the truth and they will not deny it.
That's all for this week but pray for me and my trainee :) we need all the prayers and faith we can get
LOVE YOU
Sister Bingham
