Week 52/ 1 year! (Cauayan)

Maayong aga sa inyo tanan!

I can't believe I've been out for a year already! It seems like not that long ago I was struggling to learn Hiligaynon in the MTC and trying to figure out how to talk to people in my first area. I'm still in my second area, Cauayan, and with my 5th companion (not including my MTC companion), Sister Campbell.

Yesterday was probably the BEST SUNDAY I've ever had. It was Cauayan Branch Conference and so the senior missionary couples attended and it's always a blast with them. They also help some of our investigators get to church. I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father blessed our efforts and 14 people we are teaching came to church. AND THEY LOVED IT. One of them told Elder and Sister Willis that they felt they had been missing the spiritual side to their life and they've been praying about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon and they believe it to be true. I love this sister who has found something she didn't quite know she was looking for, especially for her family. We've been teaching her the Plan of Salvation and every time she has a comment that directly lines up with a scripture in the Book of Mormon that the Holy Ghost brings to my remembrance so I can show it to her and she can strengthen her testimony about the Book of Mormon. The scriptures include Alma 34:32 and about the pride cycle and more.

A couple that we've been teaching who also was at church yesterday, we visited on Saturday. We watched the 20 min video The Restoration with them (in Tagalog) and after I asked them what they felt. Brother Eriberto said he didn't understand what he felt, he couldn't explain it. I testified that it was the Holy Ghost bearing witness that what he just saw was true. They've been trying to figure out for a while now if everything we've taught them is true. And I'm so glad that they are now beginning to recognize what they feel. I love them so much and am so grateful to be a part of their journey in coming closer to Christ.

Funny story that happened: we had a cleaning day on Sept 12 and we defrosted our freezer and it was like snow so obviously what I did was tell my companion to go outside and I formed the snow into a ball and then ran outside and threw it out her :) There is too snow in the Philippines if you know where to find it.

Also, I got a flu shot on Thursday and it turned all red and is very sore but I'm good :) they even gave me a lollipop!

Anyway, this week was so great and thank you for all your prayers on our behalf. I know they helped with this miracle of a Sunday.

LOVE YOU ALL
SEE YOU IN 6 MONTHS :P

Editors note:  When I asked Caitlin about the super typhoon Ompong last week she said this: "yeah it was just a lot of rain BUT GUESS WHAT 14 INVESTIGATORS CAME TO CHURCH YESTERDAY"  She is definitely focused on the work!  We were grateful that she wasn't in the direct path and pray for those affected by it.   When I asked her about it further, she said:
"well we just had off and on rain...
when we ate lunch it was raining really hard
time to go out? rain stops
at a lesson? rain
time to leave? stops"
The Lord watches over his missionaries :)
"Snow"

The Sondo family & neighbors, the daughters came to church and the dad said he'll come next week. They are great cause we teach them AS A FAMILY.
