Week 67 (Bacolod)

Happy New Year!!!!! I blinked and now 2018 is over!

This week was lots of fun. It was a great end to the year of 2018. Here's a summary:
Christmas Eve: full of Christmas hymn music and Christmas Spirit. We had a lovely Christmas dinner of meat and gravy and mashed potatoes. We read the Christmas story about the old shoemaker by Leo Tolstoy. And ate lots of candy :D
Christmas Day: Skyped the fam, it was so quick I blinked and it was time to go. Not enough time to feel sad because we had a full day planned.
District Council: We acted out the nativity while reading Luke 2 and singing the Christmas Hymns in the story. We all got treats to share and ate and talked about family Christmas traditions.
Los Trez Amigos: We all went to Los Trez for the Christmas celebration! Almost everyone we invited came! They were served food, we sang Christmas songs, all the children got a watch with a matching toy character. I can't explain the joy in the restaurant. Especially, as the owner handed out 5 kilos of rice to the parents of the families and one grandmother told us with the biggest smile "waay na gutom" or "there will be no hunger" It was inspiring for all of us. Almost all were people we've been working with and it was so heartwarming to help them with something temporal. Huge thanks to David the owner and his generosity and letting us help with the project. We celebrated after with REAL Italian spaghetti (Filipino spaghetti is sweet) and David told us lots of stories.
Ward Christmas Party: Sooo many people attended! Lots of dance performances from primary, youth, the Elders Quorum, and the Relief Society. Sister Clarke and I were shocked because they are so good at dancing. There was lots of food. And some of our people we are teaching made it!

Sorry for the briefness but its transfer day! Sister Clarke is going to Kabankalan. My new companion is Sister Schenk! It's going to be a blast these next two transfers!!!!!

LOVE YOU ALL
